Why do I need a Glazed Fire Door?

Modern building regulations are very strict on the use of fire doors in certain instances. It is good practice to separate a room with a source of fire such as a stove, fireplace, oven or hob from other areas of the house. In this way, if an accident should occur, the fire door can provide your family with vital extra time to make their escape. Our glazed fire doors are FD30 rated to give thirty minutes of time before they will burn through. The doors are fitted with approved fire rated glazing. Each comes with a fire safety rating certificate.

If a fire door has been specified by your architect or building control but you do not want to cut out the light to a particular room then our glazed fire rated doors are ideal for you.

Selection and Installation

Installation of fire doors must be done correctly, please see our help and advice section for further information on this critical element. It is important that no more than 3mm is taken off each side when fitting to the fire rated door frame/lining. This ensures the fire safety certificate remains valid.
