Installation

The installation of the Deanta Rochester White Primed FD30 Fire Door is designed to be user-friendly and straightforward. Regarding storage and acclimatisation; your doors must be stored horizontally on a clean, dry, flat and level surface in your home for at least 7 days prior to installation. Please do not store your doors in a freshly plastered room or in an unheated shed or garage.

The door is Primed, meaning it is supplied with a factory applied base primer. The door will usually require further final decoration. One to two coats of your chosen finish will be needed. Whatever product you choose, make sure to use a fine sandpaper to remove any excess primer or roughened surface patches before your first coat. Dark final colours will require a first coat with a dark primer. Ensure that any new door frame is square and plumb before installation for optimal fit and function. One big advantage with Deanta doors is their very generous trimming allowance. This Deanta door can be trimmed by up to 15mm from each edge, that is 15mm each from the top and bottom and left and right.

This makes it ideal if you have an existing awkward shaped doorway. If you are unsure about fitting, consider seeking assistance from a professional. Please see the table below for the maximum trimming allowances for this door.

For hinge installation, you must use a minimum of three, 4 (four inch) CE or UKCA marked fire door hinges which conform to BS EN 1935. Three 4 hinges will support the weight of the door, prevent warping and conform to the regulations on fire door installation.

It is essential to comply with local fire regulations if you are installing in areas requiring fire-rated doors. For fire doors, the door frame must also have intumescent strips fitted. Deanta Fire Door Frames have these pre-fitted.
