Installation

The installation of the Oak Pattern 10 Glazed 1L Clear is designed to be user-friendly and straightforward. Regarding storage and acclimatisation; your doors must be stored horizontally on a clean, dry, flat and level surface in your home for at least 7 days prior to installation. Please do not store your doors in a freshly plastered room or in an unheated shed or garage.

The door is Un-finished meaning it is supplied without any treatment to the veneer. The recommended treatments are varnish, lacquer or Osmo oil. Whatever product you choose make sure to use a fine sandpaper to remove any fine hairs or roughened grain patches before your first coat. Ensure that any new door frame is square and plumb before installation for optimal fit and function. All quality timber doors have a solid lipping around the edge.

This allows the doors to be trimmed or planed in order to make up for slight variations in the dimensions of the door frame. Trimming allowances vary from door to door. If you are unsure about fitting, consider seeking assistance from a professional. Please see the table below for the maximum trimming allowances for this door.

For hinge installation, we recommend using a minimum of three, 3" (three inch) quality hinges conforming to BS EN 1935. Three hinges will support the weight of the door and prevent warping.

It is essential to comply with local fire regulations if you are installing in areas requiring fire-rated doors.
